Dositej's lyceum is a typical oriental structure, with economic facilities on the ground floor and residential space upstairs, clearly divided into selamluk and haremluk. From 1808 to 1813, the building was used to accommodate the Great School, the first higher educational institution in Serbia, while today the museum is dedicated to the greats of Serbian culture, Dositej Obradovic and Vuk Karadzic.
