M. M. Rokhlina, a sanitary instructor of the 287th guards rifle regiment of the 95th guards Poltava rifle division of the 5th Guards Army, knitted a red beret during the war and wore it during short interludes between battles. Soldiers called her their Little Red Riding Hood.
