Chalk paste, known as enturotoby the Maasai, is provided for the Moran (warrior)to paint their bodies with traditional decorations. Soon after dawn on the day of the Eunotoceremony (transition to manhood), the Moran prepare the traditional white body decoration with chalk paste from a riverbed. Kenya’s renowned photojournalist Mohamed (Mo) Amin, also known as ‘Six Camera Mo’, produced a comprehensive pictorial record of these remarkable people entitled “The Last of the Maasai”.
