The relief is the work of one of the few local stonemasons, who signed it at the bottom of the frame: MC/CCI hOC OPV(s) F(eci)T (I)oha(ne)S de PETRO. Despite the flatness of the relief, the work may be classified as belonging to the “soft” Late Gothic style, which in Istria and the hinterland is largely represented by wooden carvings.
