"Everyone is just the heart of the earth pierced by a ray of sunshine and it is now evening," the hermetic verses of Salvatore Quasimodo, in one of his poems remember, because authentic and full of harsh reality, expressing awareness of the precariousness of life that at some point becomes death. We can not talk about death in a superficial way in the contemporary world, even when everything around us seems to delude there is the famous ray of sun never sets. I am witness to the places of pain, in which death and the lacerating drama have forever marked the existence of an entire community. In those places you can still today an atmosphere of great dignity, almost paradoxically, not wanting to disturb the recklessness and the innocence of those who have known no suffering. The poetry of Quasimodo could be chosen as the ideal interpreter or starting point of the work "Mother with child (Vajont tragedy)" of Iros Marpicati. An image of extraordinary power emotional, presented at the Venice 56.Biennale for Guatemala Pavilion within the Collective La Grande Bouffe, which brings to the surface the drama of the Vajont disaster.
