This magatama (comma-shaped bead) and these earrings were excavated from the inside of the main portion (grave) of the Inariyama Kofun. The magatama are made of jadeite and are believed to have been produced in Itoigawa, Niigata Prefecture. There is a hole through one end of the magatama so the magatama could be hung as a decoration on a necklace or other piece of jewelry. The earrings are rounded silver wires that are 0.2 cm thick.
