Part of the mural depicting the battle in which Lapulapu killed Magellan. The battle took place on April 27, 1521 on the Island of Mactan in the Philippines. Around 1,500 warriors from the island ruled by Lapulapu, the Mactan chief, defeated a group of 49 members of the Spanish expedition captained by Ferdinand Magellan, who died in combat.
