Maharaja of Mysore Saloon is typical of the luxury and comfort in which the royal family of Mysore used to travel in the days when the maharaja's writ ran all over the state. A special feature of saloon is 'Hudson and Neilson' under frame on which they were built, so as to facilitate interchanging of bogies between Broad and Meter Gauges to avoid causing any inconvenience to the occupants due to change of gauge.
