Mahasiddha Naropa, slim and white-skinned, sits on a wide, richly decorated throne platform wearing a scholar’s hat. His right hand is raised in the gesture of fearlessness (abhayamudra) and his left rests on his knee in an argumentation gesture (vitarkamudra). His gaze is directed upward toward a small red dakini flying in the sky. His ritual implements are placed on a table above him in the tree, and diverse offerings are placed on the ground in front of his throne. The figure at the bottom left is identified by inscription as Lobzang Dondrub. The other monk is unidentified.
