Maid Statue

Yang Yufang, senior arts and crafts artist, was born in December 1942 in Laiwu. In 2003, she was awarded as Master of Chinese Ceramic Art. She studied ceramic sculpture design under Chen Yimo and graduated from Shandong Boshan Ceramic Factory Technical School in 1960. She is good at sculpturing female character, capturing the moment of the characters 'activities and reflecting their rich inner world through the lively facial expression. Her main works include "Lady White and Xiaoqing", "A Million-dollar Smile" (group carving), "Appreciation", "Baoqin Lamp", "Four Beauties in Snow", etc. They have won many awards in the National Ceramic Design Evaluation. Among them, "Baoqin Lamp" was chosen as the national present of Deng Xiaoping's first visit to the United States. The sculpture "Four Beauties in Snow" won Tangshan Contemporary Ceramic Art Exhibition Award in 2001. "Kicking shuttlecock" won the first prize in the 7th National Ceramic Art Creation Competition. She is known as "Porcelain Yang" in Shandong Province.
