"This work falls within the circle of influence of the one known as the master of Pedret, active in the Pyrenees area in the 12th century. He is one of the teachers that best represents the Byzantine school in Catalan Romanesque painting. This can be seen in the figure of Christ, who wears a red robe and a blue mantle. He is seated in a richly decorated throne that reminds Byzantine mosaics.

It is a mural painting done in fresco, but with tempera paint touch-ups. The painting was torn from the wall and passed on to canvas.

From the iconographic point of view, the representation follows the model inspired by the Apocalypse of St. John and it is very characteristic of the Romanesque figurative art."
