The breathtaking interiors of the cinema with a play of contrast through form, colour and materials, evoke a sense of flamboyance, glamour and opulence customary to Art Deco cinemas. This is especially evident in the Canadian cedar and Burma teak panel work seen here and prevalent throughout the building - one of the finest examples of woodwork fabricated during the Art Deco era in the country. The interiors were designed by W.M. Namjoshi, a prominent art deco designer who went on to later design other cinemas in the country such as Golcha Cinema (Delhi), Raj Mandir (Jaipur) and Central Plaza (Mumbai), among others.
