Head of a Woman (Main View, front)

The oval face, set on a tapered neck with two Venus rings, presents a high forehead, large, asymmetrical eyes with thick eyelids, a straight nose with a flattened ridge, fleshy lips, and a full, dimpled chin. Parted in the middle, the hair is arranged in long, parallel waves around the face and is gathered in a roll behind the neck, exposing the earlobes, pierced for the insertion of earrings. A triangular space in the part suggests that a diadem may have been inserted. The face and hairstyle recall a Classical model and are much like 82.AD.93.2, although here the hair is wavier and facial features less precise.
