2003.256.a: Mosaic glass pyxis assembled from sections of amber golden canes entwined with opaque white glass cut polygonally into disks, assembled and cast to imitate agate. The cylindrical body resting on a flat base is decorated with a lathe-cut groove near the rim and the interior and exterior of the vessel show evidence of working on a lathe. The top of the body was severely cut back to receive the lid.
2003.256.b: The top of the lid has concentric circular incisions as decoration, consistent with lathe turning, as does the top of the vessel.
