In August 2013, the Yemeni Government ratified Law No. 16, which was created to control conservation of cities, areas and sites of historical interest of the entire country. This regulation came about from the growing awareness, from both the ruling class and the citizens, regarding the need to safeguard the cultural, architectonic and artistic heritage of the Arabia Felix. The building materials, humble and perishable, are primarily of natural origin and so these incredible architectures require continuous maintenance in order that decay be prevented. Thus, it is imperative to structure new tools, including legislative, that allow for fast and effective interventions which are extremely urgent to heal their deterioration.
