Inka goldsmiths fashioned naturalistic renderings of plants and animals for the delight of their noble patrons. The Spanish describes a garden in the Inka ruler's palace that held replicas in gold and silver of all the plants and animals in the empire. These marvelous renderings may also have been ritual offerings.
