Maki Oh, Spring / Summer 2014

Nigerian brand Maki Oh at Lagos Fashion Week 2013. Her Spring / Summer 2014 collection told the story of, in her words, "women's confusion about their place in society." And the clothes marked a journey from demurely femme to boy drag. Maki Oh is a womenswear brand founded in 2010 that fuses traditional African techniques with detailed contemporary construction. The Maki Oh design ethos challenges prevailing notions of beauty and analyses cultural norms through a womanist lens.
