Beveled short chamfer made with a main section from polished iron, reinforced on the front section with a perpendicularly attached plate. Two cheek guards in half-moon shapes and a small crownpiece are joined with chainmail. The small holes on the edges were once used to attach interior padding. The front section is engraved with the hallmark of the Ottoman arsenal of Saint Irene, in Constantinople. Type of chamfer developed by the mamluks in the early-15th century, later revisited by the Ottomans.
