Mammamiaaa workshops

Cooking is a way to remember.
"Mammamiaaaaa" is a project to create a large European community on the topics of food and sustainability.
Photos and videos of thousands of recipes were collected in a large digital archive. Each participant could, in fact, decide which dish to talk about and then serve, during a dinner or a snack that would be organized by him/her.
On March 10, 2019 "Mammamiaaa" hosted the "Social Food Forum" in Matera that saw the valuable participation of designer and researcher John Thackara. The aim of the event was threefold, with an atlas of social projects related to food, a meeting of European social food curators to share good practices and the publication of the "Social Food Green Paper".
"U Parat" and "U lurt" are the two installations that summarize the journey of "Mammamiaaa". The former is a wall made up of many tiles that show the names and recipes of the participants and the second is an urban community vegetable garden. These were two different initiatives to underline the connection between man, food and the land.
A big collective dinner, called "La Uasciazz", was organized in one of the city's symbolic squares on September 7, 2019.
It was an opportunity to celebrate conviviality through food.
