Man and Cloud

A composition structured on the basis of a central theme, man, represented by the upright, red-clad and abstractly deconstructed form of the lower part of the painting and an upward circular movement expressed by the opaque, white in its largest part and variegated in the rest, colourful mass - like a cloud - that frames it. The figure is projected on a strongly dark background with a variety of tonal gradations, in the shape of an abstractly deconstructed isosceles triangle like a mountain, which seems to represent the "shadow" of the cloud on the earth. The composition is distinguished for the emphatic juxtaposition of the small in size but vividly rendered human figure with the oversized, massive but amorphous coloured mass that surrounds it, but also for the intense colour contrasts accentuated by the grey "cloudy" background of the composition.
