- About Creator: Vitalino Pereira dos Santos was born in Caruaru, son of a ceramics worker, and made little animals with the leftovers of the marzipan that his mother used to mold. And he took them to the big and famous Saturday fair. He couldn't imagine, then, that his fame would far surpass that of the fair. In Alto do Moura a school was created, with the other potters being inspired by Vitalino's production. To this school belong also his children and grandchildren, as well as descendants of his disciples.
