The panel is part of the so-called Imhoff Altarpiece from the St. Lawrence Church (originally from St. Sebald), donated by the Nuremberg patrician Konrad Imhoff (d. 1421). Other parts are preserved in the St. Lawrence Church. The resurrected Christ, standing in the sarcophagus, is attended by Mary and John. This altarpiece is the most important testimony to the International Gothic in Nuremberg around 1400. Characteristic are the realistic facial features, the soft modeling of the forms and the delicate colors.
