Man Reading A Book

Sketch of a man deep in study. The classic hairstyle, the lamp are dead giveaways that he belonged to a noble lineage. The final version of Man Reading A Book (oil on canvas) is housed at Sri Chitra Art Gallery, Thiruvananthapuram and it shows a bit more deviation from the initial watercolour sketch. The painting shows the man's face clearly and with a cap typifying a trader or a well-to-do merchant.
