23 pattern-woven strips joined selvedge to selvedge by whip stitching to create a larger cloth; all strips have blue, red, yellow and black striped warps and blue foundation wefts; three-unit blocks of weft faced patterning and brocading are spaced regularly within each strip; five-unit groups of patterned blocks separated by narrow white bands are woven at the ends of each strip; the strips have been planned and woven so the three-unit blocks alternate to form a checker board-type pattern when stitched together selvedge to selvedge and the five-unit patterned blocks create borders along the top and bottom edges of the cloth; the top and bottom edges are un-hemmed, ending in a short fringe.
