20 pattern-woven strips joined selvedge to selvedge by whip stitching to create a larger cloth; warp arranged in variously sized alternating dark blue and white stripes; primary weft is dark blue resulting in repeating blocks of dark blue and white striped plain weave fabric; this is interspersed with blocks of multi-colored weft faced patterning in stripes and checks, bands of continuous supplemental weft patterning and brocaded geometric shapes; colors used in the weft patterning include white, red, light blue, chartreuse, gold, green, yellow, orange, peach, etc; most of the weft patterning is woven in cotton, but some of the brocading is in silk or rayon; the top and bottom edges of the cloth are turned and hemmed by whip stitching.
