Description: Red-toothed shrew, extinct, closely linked to Asian forms, and large in size as it weighed up to 60 grams. This mammal injected toxic saliva through a narrow channel in the lower incisors. The reddish colour of its teeth is due to iron oxide produced by the shrew itself.
