In Berlin 1931, at the 8th International Radio Exhibition, Manfred von Ardenne showcased the fully electronic television system which used cathode ray tubes for scanning, broadcasting, and playback. The image is larger, has a higher resolution, and is brighter than the mechanical television. In addition, the electronic components are cheaper to produce than the complex mechanical controls. The device was shown at the Loewe Company booth at the Radio Exhibition.
