This lacquered manja was given to the eldest lady of the family by her parents who lived in Pathankot district of Punjab. The bulbous shaped legs and the lacquering is a unique feature of manja in Punjab. The webbing of the manja was originally woven using leather and was replaced with cotton ropes, when it had worn out.
