This charpoy was low in height and was used for children to sleep on. It was alternately called manji because of this reason. The webbing of this manja was in the process of being woven; it starts by weaving the diagonal part first which acts as the tie, ending similarly at the other diagonal. During the weaving, the extra rope is often rolled up as a ball.
