The deity stands on double inverted lotus with slight inclination to the right. His right hand is in varada- mudra and in the left he holds a vajra at the chest. The figure is slim, almost wiry, and has sharp features, deep cut eyes and eyebrows which are typical of the period. Manjusri was a popular deity that was widely worshipped in the eastern region.
