Fully beaded, native tanned, leather head cover. Beading is lazystitch w/ approx. 12 beads per strand. White ground w/prs & single US flags: red/white stripes w/ 4 or 6 black "stars" & black poles; also 5 point stars in blue/red/green/ black/ yellow. Eye opening edged w/ fabric and red/green beads; ear opening edged w/ fabric and black/yellow. Center of neck & face & underside of neck & jaw trimmed w/ dentilium shell & red down dangles. Neck & nose trimmed w/ wide fringe rawhide wrapped w/ corn husk dyed red & w/a shell & down dangle. Interior lined w/ maroon/white cotton fabric which edges the leather at the neck. Mantle was created from two halves that were sewn together along the upper edge.
