"Chinae" is featured in Abraham Ortelius's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, the first true modern atlas to be made. Many places in China were marked on this map. The landscape was shown as a rectangle and some coastlines were wrongly drawn. The four-wheeled wind vehicles in this map come from the imagination of the mapmaker.
