A late nineteenth century map of the central section of Glasnevin Cemetery, with the mortuary chapel and O'Connell Tower, both of which were built in the 1860s, clearly visible. The image dates from before 1891, as there is no indication of the grave of Charles Stewart Parnell, which is located in the bottom-left section. The eventual republican plot would be located to the immediate right of the O'Connell Tower (Glasnevin Trust).
