The aircraft carrier Intrepid served in an antisubmarine warfare role from 1969 until its decommissioning in 1974. The ship primarily was deployed to the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Crew member Darryl Grubner created this watercolor map showing Intrepid’s route in 1971–1972. The map was a gift for Capt. Charles Williams to mark the end of his service as Intrepid’s commanding officer.
