Map of Poland from 1579 zatytułowana "Poloniae finitimarumque locorum descriptio". A cartographic study based on an important and highly popular map of Poland by Wacław Grodecki, first published in 1562. In the Ossolineum collection it is the oldest independent map of Poland. The copy’s value is enhanced by its provenance – the atlas in which it is contained (Theatrum Orbis Terrarum) comes from the historical collection of Ossolineum in Lviv, transported to Wrocław after World War II. It is an atlas map, map dimensions 37×50 cm. Scale ca. 1:2 450 000. In the upper left corner is linear scale. In lower left corner is the title in a scroll cartouche. On the reverse of the leaf is a text in Latin entitled Poloniae Regnum.
