A hand drawn map of the Battle at Paardeberg or Perdeberg, meaning "Horse Mountain" near Kimberley in South Africa. The Battle lasted from 18 February to 27 February 1900 at the time of the South African War (1899-1902) and was the first major defeat of the Boer forces who surrendered to the British. The map is telling of the battle and documents the number of men who died on the battlefield (87), those wounded (163) and 3647 men captured, dated 27 February 1900.
