Jovan Bugarski drew the first geographical map of the Principality of Serbia, in Belgrade, in 1843. Anastas Jovanović did the lithography. They printed the map at their own expense, in Vienna, in 1845, with dedication to the former Duke Mihailo Obrenović. It has been published in several variants, among others, in French. It was the first Serbian geographical map that received the recognition of the professional public at the time, while many foreign mapmakers often referred to it.
