Map of 'Treasure Island', a copy of which appears in every printed edition of the novel of the same name since its publication in 1883. Although Robert Louis Stevenson was not the first author to feature a treasure map in his fiction, it was certainly 'Treasure Island' success which popularised the idea. Several landmarks from the novel are visibly labelled on the map, including 'Spyglass Hill'.
