A lithograph “The Pit”, done by Zlatko Prica and Edo Murtić, illustrating the eponymous poem by Ivan Goran Kovačić, in 1944, stands out with its significance and visuality. It is still ranked among the most valuable artistic achievements of the war years. The unavoidable Kovačić’s work was later the inspiration for many artists (Oton Gliha, Dimo Todorovski, Jovan Kratohvil) to present their vision of the mass funeral without rituals, and their works are also part of the collection.
