Capri has been a resort destination since the time of the Roman Republic (c. 500–25 BC). William Stanley Haseltine was a frequent visitor to Capri and painted many works there. The images were particularly popular with American tourists who were visiting Europe. Marina Piccola is located on the island’s south side.
