According to a verbal account by Jesús Yeregui, the company was set up in 1921. The Unanue company, also from Zumaia, went into business later. They began building 2, 3 and 4 horsepower petrol engines and eventually made engines of up to 24 horsepower. Around 1932 they began building and fitting diesel engines. They fitted a cod ship from Pasajes with two 300 hp Yeregui engines and auxiliary engines around 1945/1946.
This piece comes from the collection of the Provincial Government of Gipuzkoa's Naval Museum.
