Excavated in Pingshan village, Xihu town of Yangzhou city in 1970, this piece with a distinctive shape and vivid embellishment is indeed one of the best among the existing chicken-head-spout pots. It has a small plate-shaped opening, a narrow neck, round shoulders, a belly that tapers in the lower section, and a flat bottom. Two square bridge-shaped knobs lie in symmetry in the shoulder area, in which there also erect a double-chicken-head with round beak, high cockscomb and a long neck serving as the spout and a circular handle starting from the top with a dragon-head biting the opening rim. This piece is covered with maroon glaze all over except the bottom.
