Before their neighborhoods were displaced, Latino youth of Chavez Ravine spent their days playing games, including baseball. After leaving the neighborhood, Richard Martinez kept playing baseball and lettered for Lincoln High School. Now grown, the children of Chavez Ravine call themselves Los Desterrados, The Uprooted.
