MARTINI - Casa Martini, "Risorgimento" bottles

Four peculiar bottles portraying 19th century Italian General Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Italian boot-shape and two key figures of Italian history, Alessandro Lamarmora and Daniele Manin. The items can be dated to the second half of the 19th century, after the Italian Unification known as Risorgimento. These items belong to a large collection of decorated bottles shaped into the faces of historical personalities, famous monuments and animals kept at Casa Martini. Made in the 19th and 20th centuries these artifacts were generally used for specialty spirits.
Casa Martini hosts the Martini Wine Museum, opened in 1961 as the first of its kind in Italy. The collection tells the origins of aromatized wines and the aperitivo occasion, with items that date back to the 7th century B.C.
