Remarkable head of a masculine personage covered with a headdress in the form of a helmet with horns. This is a type of headgear which is unusual in Nok art, but other similar ceramic helmets have been found among the current populations of Nigeria. The headdress is perforated with holes which may have an aesthtic, but also a technical function, allowing the evaporation of humidity and preventing the fragmentation of the piece during firing. The personage es also covered by a mask in the form of an animal jaw. The part of the face that remains visible repeats, as in the previous pieces, the triangular eyes, the incised pupils and the flat, wide nose. The presence of the headdress and mask amay indicate a magical or shamanic function of the head.
