Mata ni Pachedi: Washing off excess dye

The cloth with the outline and filled-in colour is taken to the river to wash off excess dye. As the Vaghri artists traditionally lived along the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad, they took their textiles down to the river for washing. The artists continue this practise into current times.
