At the New York World's Fair General Electric's display, designed by Walt Disney, employs multi-lensed sheeting as the background for the overhead sign. Salvador Dali, intrigued by the possibilities, made multi-lensed sheeting his "canvas" for a dimensional painting featured at the Spanish Pavillion. Artists will find the random moiré effect an unusual starting for expressionistic design. Industry has adopted multi-lensed sheets for vending machine panels; decora- tive accents on such items as electric razors, drum shells, point-of-sale displays, etc. Four Types Available Item 1, which is the same material as the two samples, is .0075" thick. When the smooth surface of one of these sheets is placed against the smooth surface of another and then moved, a variety of moiré patterns can be created, from the magnification of the lenses to shimmering waterfall moires. Types 2, 3 and 4 of this new thermoplastic sheeting are laminates of two sheets such as the samples enclosed. They are . 015" thick. All sheet types can be used with a wide variety of adhesives including polyvinyl acetate, contact cement or even water-soluble glues. They resist soiling, but can be cleaned readily with a mild detergent. Accept art work, silk screen printing or quality lithography with excellent results. The floating and sinking patterns, which give an illusion of depth up to 3/4", show off printing or art work in a spectacular manner... the art or type appears to float above the surface on one, appears to sink deeply into it on the other. Beautiful results can be achieved by combining the two. Experiment with the various types offered below. Item 1. MULTI-LENSED SHEET (single, not laminated). Translucent, clear. As sample. 12" x 24" No. 70, 734 $2.00 Ppd. Item 2. Item 3. MULTI-LENSED LAMINATED SHEETS FLOATING, NODULAR (CONCAVE) PATTERN.
