Celebrity chef Matt Moran left school at the age of 15 to pursue his passion of cooking. He learnt the techniques and finesse of classical French cooking whilst undertaking his apprenticeship at ‘La Belle Helene’ in Roseville. At the age of 22, Moran opened his first restaurant, the Paddington Inn Bistro. This was followed four years later by Moran’s Restaurant and Café in 1995. He has since opened dozens of successful restaurants, including ARIA Sydney, ARIA Brisbane, North Bondi Fish, Opera Bar, and CHISWICK. He has been awarded two Chef’s Hats from the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Guide over ten times. Moran has authored four best-selling cookbooks and has become well known after appearing on TV cooking shows like Chopping Block, Masterchef, My Restaurant Rules, the Great Australian Bakeoff, and Paddock to Plate.
