Mazu

This Mazu statue, said to protect sailors and fishermen, was produced during the Qing dynasty, in the Chaotian style. This style is rare for brick Mazu statues. The seat and garment of this Mazu statue show her as a heavenly government official. This statue was most likely enshrined in a large temple.
