Hendra liked minor themes that contained a deep well of human interest. The painting depicts Dadang, his son, on his lap, while pulling at his long beard. This happy story was heard when he was in the political detention cells in Kebon Waru, Bandung. In the mean time, a symbol of a prison for political prisoners was done using a depiction of Dadang's shoes, which were army boots. In this painting, Hendra wanted to express an ironic happiness.
